Scraper training: Before you book
Course and outcome
RIIMPO325E – Conduct civil construction scraper operations. Delivered by National Courses Pty Ltd (RTO 41072). Successful participants receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.
Who can enrol
You must be at least 16 years old. There are no formal prerequisites for RIIMPO325E. Participants need sufficient English, literacy and numeracy to understand safety information, communicate, complete knowledge tasks and work safely. We review suitability and support needs before enrolment.
Site, equipment and PPE
Bring valid photo identification and your Unique Student Identifier (USI). Wear site-appropriate work clothing, enclosed safety boots and required PPE. Access to a suitable scraper, required attachments and a safe work area must be arranged; responsibilities are confirmed before training.
Duration and attendance
2 days, face to face at a suitable company worksite. Attend all scheduled sessions and complete every required knowledge and practical assessment activity.
Fees and cancellations
The 2-day scraper course is $599. We confirm inclusions, payment, cancellation, transfer and refund terms in writing before booking.
Identity and USI
A valid USI is required for nationally recognised training unless an exemption applies. Photo identification and USI details must be verified before certification. Create or find your USI at usi.gov.au.
Assessment and support
Assessment includes knowledge questions, practical demonstrations using a scraper, observation and required workplace documentation. Reasonable adjustment and learner support may be available without changing the competency requirements. Practical scraper skills for your workplace
Our training focuses on the knowledge and hands-on skills needed for scraper operations, with support from an experienced trainer.
Plan and prepare safely
Interpret work instructions, identify hazards, select the required PPE and attachments, and carry out pre-start checks before operating.
Operate the scraper
Practise loading, hauling and spreading material using procedures suited to the scraper and site conditions.
Complete the assessments
Demonstrate the required operating tasks and complete knowledge questions, observations and workplace documentation. All competency requirements must be met.
Receive your Statement of Attainment
After successful assessment and verification of enrolment, identity and USI details, National Courses issues your Statement of Attainment. Separate employer, site and jurisdictional requirements may still apply.

Can I book a public scraper course?
We currently deliver this course only as private on-site training for companies. Contact us with your site location, team size and preferred dates to request a company quote.
What is the Scraper Operator course?
This course delivers RIIMPO325E Conduct civil construction scraper operations. It covers planning and preparing, hazard controls, pre-start checks, safe scraper operation, loading, hauling and spreading material, shutdown and housekeeping. It is available as face-to-face workplace training for company groups.
How long is the Scraper Operator course?
The Scraper Ticket course is delivered over 2 days. Participants must attend all scheduled training and assessment sessions.
Is my Scraper Operator certificate recognised nationally?
Yes. RIIMPO325E is a nationally recognised unit of competency. Participants who successfully complete every assessment and meet identity, USI and enrolment requirements receive a Statement of Attainment from National Courses Pty Ltd (RTO 41072).
Do I need prior experience?
RIIMPO325E has no formal prerequisite. We review each participant’s experience, language, literacy and numeracy, physical capacity and support needs before enrolment. Employer or site requirements may also apply.
Will my Scraper Operator certificate expire?
The Statement of Attainment does not have a set expiry date. Employers, principal contractors or sites may require refresher training or recent evidence of competency. Licensing and regulatory requirements can vary by state, territory, employer and industry.
English Requirements
Participants need sufficient English, literacy and numeracy to interpret procedures, follow safety instructions, communicate with others, complete knowledge tasks and work with operating limits. Support and reasonable adjustment may be available without changing the competency requirements; contact us before enrolment to discuss your needs.
USI Requirements
A valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) is required for nationally recognised training unless an exemption applies. Identity and USI details must be verified before certification can be issued, so incorrect or incomplete information may delay your Statement of Attainment.
