VIC White Card questions and course requirements

• What are the ID requirements?

  Bring one valid form of photo ID, such as a driver’s licence, passport or proof of age card. Contact us before booking if you need help meeting the ID requirements.

• What is a White Card VIC?

  A White Card is an official certification required to work on construction sites in Victoria. It proves that you have completed general construction induction training and understand how to identify and manage safety risks in the workplace.

• How long is a White Card course in VIC?

  The VIC White Card course runs for 6 hours + breaks in one day. Check your selected session for the start and finish times.

• Is my VIC White Card recognised nationally?

  Yes, your VIC White Card is nationally recognised across Australia, allowing you to work in the construction industry in any state or territory.

• Do I need prior experience?

  No prior experience is required to complete the White Card course in Victoria. It is designed for beginners as well as experienced workers who need the certification.

• Will my VIC White Card expire?

  Your White Card has no printed expiry date. If you have been away from construction work for two years or more, contact us before returning to site to check whether you need to repeat the training.

• USI Requirements

  You need a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI) unless an exemption applies. Provide it when enrolling. You can create or find your USI free at usi.gov.au.

• How is the training delivered?

  The White Card is delivered face to face in the classroom. You must be in Victoria to complete the VIC White Card course.

• What assessments will I need to complete?

  To successfully complete the course, you will be required to complete multiple-choice and short-answer written questions, fill in a short form, and demonstrate the correct use of PPE. In some cases, your assessor may be able to read the questions and help record your answers (for more information, see the Training Support Section below).

• What are the entry requirements?

  You must be 14 or older, meet the ID requirements and be able to read simple safety signs, write short answers and follow instructions in English without an interpreter.

  You must also demonstrate the correct use of PPE. Please contact us before enrolling if you need support or reasonable adjustments.

  Training and assessment take place in the classroom.

• Certification and Licence Requirements

  After successful completion, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for CPCWHS1001. We apply to WorkSafe Victoria for your White Card, which is posted to you. Allow up to 60 days for delivery.

• What do I do if I need training or other support to complete the course?

  Please tell us before you enrol if you have any support needs. This may include physical or wellbeing support or help with reading, writing, or numeracy. We will contact you and do a short check first. This helps us adjust your training and assessment. Adjustments may include extra one-on-one time with the trainer or LLN support, such as help reading questions.

• What are the course fees and what do I do if I want to cancel my enrolment and get a refund?

  The course fee is from $99. This includes all learning material and resources to complete the course.

  All fees must be paid in full before attending the course.

  Refunds, booking changes and rebooking:

  At National Courses we keep it simple. You can change, refund or cancel your booking at anytime. No extra charges. Our bookings are 100% flexible. 

  If we ever cancel a course, you will be given the option to rebook or obtain a full refund.
