• What are the ID requirements?

  Victoria White Card is simple when it comes to ID. All you need to bring is one form of official photo ID. This can include 

  • Australian drivers license
  • proof of age card
  • passport (Australian or international)
  • ImmiCard
  • Boat license

  • School ID card

• What is a White Card VIC?

  A White Card is an official certification required to work on construction sites in Victoria. It proves that you have completed general construction induction training and understand how to identify and manage safety risks in the workplace.

• How long is a White Card course in VIC?

  The VIC White Card course takes around 6 hours total (+ breaks) to complete and is conducted in a single day.

• Is my VIC White Card recognised nationally?

  Yes, your VIC White Card is nationally recognised across Australia, allowing you to work in the construction industry in any state or territory.

• Do I need prior experience?

  No prior experience is required to complete the White Card course in Victoria. It is designed for beginners as well as experienced workers who need the certification.

• Will my VIC White Card expire?

  No, your White Card does not expire as long as you continue working in the construction industry. However, if you leave the industry for an extended period (2+ years), you will need to retake the course to refresh your knowledge.

• USI Requirements

  All participants enrolling in our short courses are required to have a USI. The USI is a national identifier that allows your training records to be securely stored and accessed online.

  If you already have a USI, please provide it during enrollment.

  If you do not have a USI, you will need to create one before starting the course. Creating a USI is free and can be done online using your personal details, such as your name, date of birth, and email.

  The USI ensures that your course completion is officially recorded and accessible for future reference.

• How is the training delivered?

  The White Card is delivered face to face in the classroom. You must be in Victoria to complete the VIC White Card course.

• What assessments will I need to complete?

  To successfully complete the course, you will be required to complete multiple-choice and short-answer written questions, fill in a short form, and demonstrate the correct use of PPE. In some cases, your assessor may be able to read the questions and help record your answers (for more information, see the Training Support Section below).

• What are the entry requirements?

  You have to be able to read simple signs and short texts, write basic answers on forms, and follow verbal instructions during the session. A bit of basic numeracy helps too, like reading the time or simple measurements.

  You must be able to complete the course in English without an interpreter. You don’t need to be fluent in English to do this White Card course in VIC. A basic level is fine as long as you can follow along, understand safety instructions, and communicate with your trainer. If English is your second language, that’s completely fine. Just make sure you’re comfortable enough to participate and take in the safety content.

  You must also have the physical ability to demonstrate the correct use of PPE. If you require LLN assistance, please let us know before booking. We may be able to offer support, make reasonable adjustments, or recommend alternative options.

  If you feel you do not meet these requirements, please contact us prior to enrolling. Please note that our training is delivered face to face and is paper based so you don’t need any digital skills.

• Certification and Licence Requirements

  You will receive a Statement of Attainment by email on the same day you complete the course for CPCWHS1001 Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry.

  You will also receive a Statement of Training (SOT), which acts as your temporary White Card for 60 days. It is accepted Australia-wide as evidence that you have completed the required training and can be used immediately.

  Your physical White Card will be posted by Service Victoria and generally arrives within 2–4 weeks. If you have not received it after four weeks, please contact Service Victoria here.

• What do I do if I need training or other support to complete the course?

  Please tell us before you enrol if you have any support needs. This may include physical or wellbeing support or help with reading, writing, or numeracy. We will contact you and do a short check first. This helps us adjust your training and assessment. Adjustments may include extra one-on-one time with the trainer or LLN support, such as help reading questions.

• What are the course fees and what do I do if I want to cancel my enrolment and get a refund?

  The course fee is from $99. This includes all learning material and resources to complete the course.

  All fees must be paid in full before attending the course.

  Refunds, booking changes and rebooking:

  At National Courses we keep it simple. You can change, refund or cancel your booking at anytime. No extra charges. Our bookings are 100% flexible. 

  If we ever cancel a course, you will be given the option to rebook or obtain a full refund.
